Suiting Up!!!!!

So, I have already discussed the wet look skinny jean sensation that is taking over the world, but there is another trend which has been very prominent of late, the Play Suit/Jump Suit phenomena.

I must say that most of the time when I am out shopping I see these lovely printed garments which I gravitate towards... only to discover that it is a Play Suit or a Jump Suit and I instantly put the garment back on the rack. I had a fear of them, a fear that they will make my belly stand out and I will be come a fashion faux pas.

Until one day... I was shopping in my favourite store, browsing the racks, checking out the new stock, when I came across a Play Suit. I was instantly attracted to the pattern and colour, I tried it on and it looked okay but I fervently wished that it was a dress and I left the store with empty hands, saddened that the one thing I liked that day was a Play Suit.

That Play Suit plagued my thoughts for days and in the end I just decided I would buy it, maybe I would wear it to the Ladies Day at the Rugby... which I did.

Here I am taking the standard selfie before heading off to the Rugby. At this point I was pretty happy with the Play Suit and I wore it again a week later when I was out to dinner with friends in Sydney. In the photo above I an wearing it with black opaque tights and a long line card.

Below, I have dressed it up, wearing sheer stockings to keep my legs warm, a black belt and some patent black heels.

I became a little addicted to the Play Suit and I bought the same style in plain black. I wore the plain black one to an engagement party on the weekend and I felt fabulous. The material is a bit slinky and seems to hug my curves in all the right places. No fashion faux pas' here! Teamed with some blue pumps (which I got for the bargain price of $10, reduced from $200) and a gorgeous clutch this outfit is amazing.

Also, I am not the only sexy curvy girl who can rock a Play Suit. My lovely friend Kathryn looks fabulous in the Play Suit as well. Here she is looking gorgeous...

I have one issue with the Play Suit... a girl has to take the whole thing off when she has to use the ladies room. It is a little inconvenient. However, the positives far outweigh the one negative issue I have with this fantastic item of clothing. I think I am now addicted to Play Suiting Up!!!!

So, I will sign off with this fashion advice... TRY SOMETHING THAT TAKES YOU OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE! You may surprise yourself with the results!

Sunday Stylings To Die For!

Ah Sunday, glorious Sunday... and the weather is just glorious today.

I decided to get out of the house and take a walk in the sunshine to check out the local Farmers Market. Of course I needed a great Sunday style to wear... always thinking about fashion, style and looking good. Considering there is still a chill in the air I thought jeans to be appropriate

Jeans, we either love them or hate them!

Now, until recently I never wore jeans, they made me look unattractive and they just never fit right. It was not until I lost 15kg that I decided I would give jeans another try. The problem with me and jeans is that my ass is non existent and whenever I wear jeans I tend to spend the whole time pulling the damn things up. Also, most jeans are baggy on my legs which makes me look like a very big and wide tree. Not attractive!!!!!

However, after a long and disheartening search I have found the jeans to die for...

The jeans are the TDF (To Die For jeans) from City Chic. What is great about these jeans is that they are made for specific body shapes. Apple, Hourglass and Pear. Being a curvy apple girl I have found that these jeans are amazing. I buy the Apple Skinny TDF Jeans and I have them in dark blue denim and black denim.

I chose the black ones today...

These babies are very much To Die For! They show off my great legs (which I am very proud of - the hard work of squats and cycling) and they fit like a glove. Also, they are comfortable and they don't fall down (they sit high on the waist and the waist is adjustable).

Here I am wearing the jeans with a long line baby pink top, a scarf (that I knitted myself with some lovely yarn from Lincraft) and the City Chic, City Wedge Boots in Grey Suede.

I also added a long line card for some extra warmth...

This cardi is also a City Chic item. I think that a long line card is a staple for any winter wardrobe. I wear this one to work, out and about to the movies or the local pub for a drink, and as you can see casually on the weekend. One of the best items in my winter wardrobe.

A lovely morning spent wandering around the Farmers Market in my TDF Jeans!

So, if there are any ladies out there loathing jeans and looking for the perfect pair you must, I say must, go in to City Chic and try on a pair of the TDF Jeans. Here is the link: http://www.citychic.com.au/Body-Shape-Denim-T-D-F.aspx?pl&s=228

Have a lovely Sunday :)

Hippopotamus, I am not!

You know what is popular in the fashion world lately? Wet Look Jeans. I have previously been apprehensive about this trend. My apprehension stemming from images of me in Wet Look Jeans looking like a hippopotamus, cute, but round and bulbous.

However, I have not been able to stop thinking about Wet Look Jeans and when I saw a pair online (on a Facebook buy, swap, sell page) for a bargain price the other day I bought them. I decided that if I did in fact look like a hippopotamus, that was okay, because I purchased them for a bargain price. I was also a little worried that they wouldn't fit, did I pick the wrong size? Arghhhhh, the stresses of buying clothes one has not tried on!

I also decided that I needed a new top to wear with said Wet Look Jeans. So I opened up a new tab, typed in www.citychic.com.au and found a lovely top, which also happened to be on sale. I also bought some other things, but I am addicted to buying clothes (ssshhhhhh). Voila, a new outfit on its way to me!

The Wet Look Jeans and the new top arrived on the same day. I must say, I was a little excited to try them on, which I did on Saturday morning. When I first tried the ensemble on I was amazed. The Wet Look Jeans were amazing, so comfortable and flattering. I was not really impressed with the top at first and I thought 'Oh, I might return that'.

I had plans to go to the movies on Saturday night, and the idea of the fashion blog had been on my mind for a few days. I decided to hell with it, I am wearing the Wet Look Jeans and the new top and I am going to be fabulous and this is what my first blog post will be about!

Needless to say, I really do think I look fabulous (yes, I am bias). Let me show you....

So, here we have the Wet Look Jeans and the new top. Oh and a nice pair of Betts patent pumps. Such a good look for casual drinks and dinner with friends and something that can be worn out if the night progresses to more drinks, maybe some dancing.

Here, as you can see, I have added a blazer... maybe a casual friday look for work.

Here, we have the side view (not my best angle) and this is where I was having second thoughts about the hippopotamus look.

Just to tone it down a little I swapped the blazer and heels for a longline card and a pair of flats.

I can report that the outfit was a success. The male friend who I went to the movies with said, and I quote, 'You're smoking hot'

All in all, I think I can safely say that 'Hippopotamus, I am not'.
